Texas.Mother´s Heaven.

Texas surgió en 1986, en Glasgow, con los hermanos Johnny y Gerry McElhone, junto a la cantante Sharleen Spiteri. Sharleen escribía sus propias canciones y Gerry hacía las veces de representante y se encargó de introducir al grupo entre las productoras discográficas.

Mientras preparaban su primera maqueta, contactaron con Ally McErlaine, para que se hiciera cargo de la guitarra, y con Stuart Keer para la batería.

El grupo tomó el nombre definitivo de Texas debido a la influencia que tuvo en ellos la banda sonora de la película 'Paris,Texas', de 1985.

En 1988 debutaron y a partir de entonces no pararon de dar conciertos. Publicaron su primer álbum, 'Southside', con el que obtuvieron un gran éxito de ventas.

Después de triunfar decidieron hacer un disco bastante personal, titulado 'Mother's Heaven', pero el éxito no les sonrió como en la anterior ocasión.Aunque para mi es el mejor de todos los publicados.

Se pusieron a trabajar en un nuevo disco, 'Ricks Road', en 1992, con el que volvieron a cosechar buenos resultados de ventas.Completando la discografía los últimos años con posteriores éxitos. como con 'White on Blonde' y 'The Hush'.
